Building directly on Pask, Laurillard defined what a complete learning conversation requires: four activities — discursive, adaptive, interactive, reflective — operating as a closed loop. Her critique of education technology: most of it supports one or two, and quietly abandons the rest.

The engineering
The problem XEDIS solves is abstract — be a professor’s mind, for every learner, at once. Solving it took relentless engineering in places most platforms never think to look.
The retrieval engine is stateless and cites everything. It structurally cannot drift into invention — a property of the architecture, not a promise in a prompt.
Ask, and the twin begins responding the way a person does — present, unhurried, already thinking with you. The machinery runs beneath the conversation, never between you and it.
